Healthy Aging and Better Blood Presser with Beet Juice

A new study published in the Redox Biology journal has demonstrated that beetroot juice can lead to healthier brain function and cleaner blood vessels. Beetroot juice has previously been shown to promote increased energy and healthy blood pressure levels.

The finding of this recent study suggests that drinking beetroot juice modifies the composition of oral bacteria, resulting in benefits to both the brain and circulatory system. This is most likely a result of the inorganic nitrate present in the juice. It leads to increased nitric oxide production and a slew of metabolic benefits.

This is great news for older adults who tend to have lower nitric oxide production.

If you decide to add beetroot juice to your daily routine, I suggest starting with just a few ounces, and divide it into 2 servings. This is a great way to expand the colors of your diet which is one of my top recommendations for health enhancement.
